The pilot worked. On time. On budget. Everyone celebrated.
Then came scaling. And the engine stalled.
The technology did its job. But underneath, the business was held together with patches, workarounds, and good intentions. Every country running its own version. Nobody knowing who decides when an issue spans three regions. Governance that worked for one site but fell apart at twenty.
Here’s what I’ve learned: pilots are designed to succeed. Scaling exposes what’s really there.
